XPECT – CONVEYORING AND ACCESSORIES : SHORT AND MEDIUM DISTANCE DELIVERY

RAX accesses the most innovative technologies available and will use for your project the ones most suitable; gravity, chain, roller, or belt conveyors along with alpines, lifts, stackers, destackers and transfer bots as necessary. We work with the leading suppliers of these technologies to provide you with the optimum customized solution available.

XPERT: MOBILE ROBOTS : LONGER DISTANCE DELIVERY

Mobile robots are a good solution to transport of items over longer distances.

Unlike Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), mobile robots are independent of any track guidance systems, embedded or otherwise. They are completely autonomous and can be easily integrated into existing workflows without any expensive infrastructure modification or maintenance. They can navigate lifts and closed doors if required. It is simple to reprogram their routes and tasks. RAX uses the OMRON basic module on which to develop customer specific solutions.

XPORT: PRECISION OUTPUT

Items output from a rBox are delivered for further processing by a precision gravity chute.

XACT : PAIRING OF OPTICAL LENSES

xAct is a RAX developed technology which enables lenses to be paired according to order requirement following output from a rBox. The flow of lenses from the rBox to the xAct is controlled by our RAM software. For optimum output speed, the lenses arrive in chaotic order into the xAct which then regroups them into the pairs needed. This procedure improves the overall efficiency of the process and shortens the order delivery time. When the lenses arrive at the xAct, they are scanned. Having already received the customer order, the xAct then transfers the pair required to another conveyor. The lenses are either placed into a production job tray or sent to shipping, at a speed of up to 450 jobs or 1,000 lenses per hour. The empty lens trays are then recycled back towards the aBuffer for storage as required or directly to the aFill so that they are available for new lenses to be input into the rBox.

XTEND: LARGE ORDER : SEQUENCING OF LARGE ORDER OUTPUT

RAX developed this technology for finished lens distribution centres which need to supply their customers with lenses pre-sorted into their dioptric sequence. These orders need lenses to be sorted by strength, such orders can be for hundreds of lenses at a time, and need to be processed differently from a standard order. The xTend system consists of a conveyor integrated into the rBox with a series of receiving points. This enables a portion of the sequence, selected by RAM to be created internally, before being sent for output to a work station where they can be placed into cartons for shipment. Different xTend loaded gray tray strings are separated by an empty blue tray to enable easy identification of the end of one large order and the start of another.

XTAG: JOB TICKET FOLDER AND INSERTER

The XTAG is equipped with a printer. Job tickets can be generated, folded and inserted into job trays; allowing for a fully automated process flow.

XPRESS: PRINTERS: ADDITIONAL IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS OR CARTONS

Should it be necessary to provide additional identification of items or cartons flowing through a RAX automated system, barcode printers can be added. Typically, these are non-contact printers, so they can print on all kinds of surfaces. The bar codes are checked by readers positioned where necessary.

XPAND: FORMING AND SEALING OF CARTONS

RAX can integrate automated packaging of commissioned orders, creating a fully automated warehouse from goods-in to dispatch. The packagers have two main components. Carton formers, which create an open carton into which items are then commissioned, and closers, which put a lid on the top of the open carton once the items have been inserted. The closer also seals the carton and reduces its height if necessary, to conform with shipping size requirements.

XTOL: LABELLERS: PRINTING AND APPLICATION OF ADDRESSES

Once the cartons are sealed, a labeller is provided to generate and affix labels to the carton so that the carton can be sent to shipping directly for dispatch to the end user.

XHORT: SORTERS: READYING CARTONS FOR SHIPPING

This technology can be added at the very end of the line to sort the sealed and labelled cartons according to shipping company.
